Natural Places, Sustainable Practices


Your generosity to Mountaineers Foundation supports sustainable practices and extends healthy habitat and wild places. Thank you.

Our overhead expenses are covered by an endowment, so 100% of your donation goes directly to the programs you wish to support.

All donations to Mountaineers Foundation are tax-deductible.

General Fund

Supports the Foundation’s administrative functions and our various programs that provide funding to environmental organizations in the Pacific Northwest.

Community Grants Fund

Supports grants to fund modest, short-term projects that promote the study of the mountains, forests and streams of the Pacific Northwest, and contribute to preserving its natural beauty and ecological integrity.

Rhododendron Preserve Education Fund

Supports educational programs that utilize the Rhododendron Preserve as a resource.

Rhododendron Preserve Second Century Fund

Supports enhancing the Rhododendron Preserve through additional purchases, conservation easements, and land stewardship. Donations allow us to purchase buffer property to protect rare Puget Sound lowland old growth forest.

Property Acquisition Fund

Supports land purchases for conservation and environmental protection and preservation.

The Mountaineers Foundation is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and gifts to The Foundation are tax-deductible under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Code.

IRS regulations require that you retain a written acknowledgment from The Foundation to support your claim of a tax deduction. A receipt of your gift will be provided at the end of your PayPal transaction: please retain it for your records.

The Foundation confirms that you received no goods or services in return for your gift.
