Utilizing the unique environment of the Foundation's Rhododendron Preserve, the Kitsap Branch of the Mountaineers Club operates a successful youth education program called Salmon Safaris. Groups of school-age childred are taken on a guided tour of a vibrant coho and chinook salmon habitat. Program options range form a simple field trip to a complete educational experince featuring activities, story teller, and instruction by salmon experts. The program is run by volunteers, with small fees paid to instructors. Hundreds of children from school districts in the Kitsap County area an beyond are enriched by this program every year. Funding from our Friends of the Mountaineers Club Fund make this program possible.

The Mountaineers Foundation is proud to support this and many other public-benefit programs run by the Mountaineers Club. Your support is essential to keep these programs going and improve our environment and our community. Please donate today to ensure this work continues to leave a lasting legacy to future generations.
